Calm is the order of the day in the Holy Roman Empire, in a lull between power struggles. All is not well, as society tries to understand and deal with the abnormally capable members of its body. Are they angels of the Lord, or cacodemons here to sow chaos? Their behaviors refuse to be narrowed into a single box, vexing the thinkers of the time in regards to the nature of their powers. In the midst of this, those who themselves are blessed, or cursed, with Talynts, must get by. Mercenary work is common, as is underhanded dealing, and even prostitution. Others work for legitimate institutions, with their capabilities a secret. Still others adhere to the Church, seeking to find their answer in the Lord, whose hand is the very same that knit them together.
